Salvation

What is salvation?  The deepest need of every person is to establish a life-changing relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.  The following scriptures explain how to do so:

1.  Recognize that you have sinned; everyone who has ever sinned is a sinner.

 Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

2.  Understand that sin brings death. Spiritual death is eternal separation from God when this life is over.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3.  Believe that Christ died for you. His sacrificial death satisfies the penalty for your sinfulness before God.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

4.  Believe that Jesus offers you life.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not  perish but have everlasting life

5.  Call upon Jesus to save you.

Romans 10:13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."

6.  Accept God's assurance of your salvation when you call upon him.

Romans 10:9-10  That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

What Now?

If you have called upon the Savior for salvation, please let someone know. Call our church or call a Christian relative or friend to tell them. You need to tell someone so you can have someone celebrate with you, pray for you, and help grow in your new found faith. A trusted Christian can show you how you can become all that God wants you to become.

Also, you need to get into a Bible believing church where you can enjoy the benefits of the Christian family. We would certainly like to have you come to Rector First General Baptist Church but there may be close friends or relatives in other Bible believing churches with which you would like to attend. Be sure to get involed somewhere immediately.

For Personal Spiritual Guidence, call the church office at 870-595-3825.
